A rowing record that was set in 1896 for crossing the Atlantic was beaten by a staggering 14 days!
The Artemis North Atlantic Rowing Challenge crew left the starting point in New York on the 17th of June and, surviving 10 metre waves, rescuing a man overboard and sighting whales, made it to St Mary’s on the Isles of Scilly on the 31st. 43 days, 21 hours and 26 minutes later.
